The software that is used to add the google satellite imagery in arc gis is PBS (portable Base map Server). Portable Base map Server is a simple to use, this application is very helpful for GIS users.
This application is useful for adding base map to analyze and visualize the spatial data content,with the help of this application you can easily add any base map for example google basemap, Esri basemap, Bing basemap etc.

Once you connect with the internet open the arcmap software go to the catalog and add the server when you add the server give the link or copy paste the base map link in that server after that you will find your basemap interface window,
